VIDA CLARA (Clear Life) will be a spiritual retreat and teaching center on 40 beautiful acres in Belize. We will provide fasting supervision, natural health education, meditation, and hands-on practice in cultivating a simple, balanced, and conscious lifestyle. We moved our retreat from California to Belize to provide a year round warm climate with clean air, tropical fruit, and a simple lifestyle. We will create 5-10 acres of orchards, gardens and pasture to provide us with food and sources of income from the land. Many acres will remain as forest/jungle with walking trails throughout. We anticipate that a small community will develop with several private homes.

Vida Clara/Transformation Institute is a U.S. 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (contact us for details) and gratefully accepts charitable, tax deductible donations in order to build our retreat and provide our services at a affordable rates for our students and guests. We also will have many volunteer opportunities in fasting care, farming, and development.

Property Description

The land is a lush and pristine sub-tropical jungle surrounded by undeveloped large parcels of land. It is very quiet and private with a large, beautiful creek with small waterfalls and huge trees along the banks. The creek has several lovely spots for swimming. A large valley along the creek is surrounded by small mountains with several gentle sloping hillsides, perfect for building sites with great views into the valley. Our water supply will come from rainwater catchment, wellhead, and irrigation water from the creek. A small natural spring may also serve as a good water source.

Property Location

The property is in Unitedville, Cayo District, which is halfway between (a 20 minute drive) San Ignacio and Belmopan. San Ignacio is the westernmost 'large town' in Belize, with a funky pioneering, adventurous vibe, while Belmopan is the preplanned capitol of Belize and has that gov't-planned feel and look to it. Unitedville is a very small village along the Western Highway, and our property is tucked away about 1 mile off the highway behind several small mountains. This gives us fairly close access to the main road while still affording excellent privacy and solitude.
