And here.

Racial and religious tolerance, and a non-violent political culture give Belize a widespread reputation for its friendly people. People are relaxed and smiles happen easily. They often go out of their way to help you. It is quite easy to make friends here; there is a growing ex-pat community here in the Cayo District of Western Belize.

Belize money is pegged at 2X US money: $1US = $2 Belize.

Weather

Temperatures are warm and tropical. Ideal weather in Belize is from October through mid March with daytime temps in the 70s and 80s with cool nights. Dry season is mid March through May. In the Cayo District it rains 50-60 inches a year.

The skyscapes in Cayo are amazing. Powerful cumulus formations come and go all day long, nearly every day. The sunrises and sunsets are often spectacular.
